This is a post which applies to the performance standards. I have used many of the concepts of asssessment, but like what I call a total approach. I use Problem based instruction which I have called reality instruction. I like using applications from the real world in my teaching. I use a PBI in most of the instructional hours. I firmly believe it is more than just tests and what they have gained from the text. I believe the tests themselves are instructional tools which I use daily. Life is more than what we read and how we take a test.

  1. Reality instruction - I like it. Do you go in and purposefully sabotage a project so students can practice their troubleshooting skills? I've heard of other instructors using that technique.
